19th Century Oil Painting Attributed to J. M. W. Turner





William Turner (British, 1789-1862), overview of a city scape in Italy, boats on canal river. Unsigned, oil on canvas with mixed color medium (relined), 33.5 by 43.5 in., framed in the 19th century old style. This oil painting was labeled on the back (see photos) and had been acquired from an auction event in Cambridge Massachusetts, and was attributed to William Turner by the auction house (see photos).



  • Attributed to the famous British Painter, J. M. W. Turner.
  • Turner had painted a lot of similar water color and oil paintings.
  • The painting had been labeled as "The property of E. P. Broome (ca?)".
